Linework bleeds through wipeouts when printing PDF files created from AutoCAD PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 13 March 2007

Regardless of whichever PDF writer you use, it is very common for the resulting PDF files look fine on your screen, but not observe wipeouts when printed to paper.

Workarounds: Before sending your drawing to the PDF printer, change the color of all of the wipeouts to a color that wont show up on the printed page. Using QSELECT, you can select all raster images, then explicitly deselect any actual images. Then in the properties flyout, change the color by selecting the true color tab, and specifying RGB values of 255,255,255. I've also written a short command to do this and I will upload it as time permits. Email me if you're interested.

Mike Ishman has reported that Jaws PDF Creator does not exhibit these symptoms.
